Can you lighten hair with lemon juice and a blow dryer?

so my friend is naturally blonde but her roots grow in kinda brownish and shed like to change that.

sooo since the sun isn't exactly an option she considering a blow dryer......? ehhhh?

  1. John Frieda has a product out that contains bits of lemon and lemon juice. You are supposed to put it in your hair and sit out in the sun. The heat will not do anything...it's like asking if you can get tan from a heater. The rays from the sun are what make your hair and skin change color. She won't need to be in the sun for that long to see results if she puts lemon juice or some lightening product in her hair.  


  2. Not sure about the lemon juice theory; but I vaguely recall hearing something like that.  However, if her roots are growing in dark, she may need to dye it (but I'm going to assume that eventually it becomes her natural blonde?) so don't do that.

    There is a product called: Sun In that you would spray it in your hair and you could either blow dry it or sit out in the sun.  And, it would make your hair lighter in color.  

    But, this is not a good product to use for roots because Sun In is sprayed throughout your hair and it really wouldn't affect the roots.
