  1. OK, first of all, what do you mean when you say "we"? Do you mean the average U.S. citizen?

And if you already have a list of 50 types of taxes, it seems to me that you must have them all. Most of us don't pay nearly that many types of taxes ... we generally pay income tax (state and local), sales tax in some states, and property tax if we own a home or an automobile. I suppose you could count Social Security and Medicare as forms of taxes as well. Hmmm.

Why are you trying to make this list, anyway?

  2. There are 104 taxes that didn't exist in 1920, when the budget was balanced.  (ie car license plate, driver's license fee, city vehicle sticker, firearm owner's card, fishing license, tire disposal excise tax, etc.)  There are 221 occupations that need to have licenses in Illinois and many of them require continuing education.  Why don't our politicians (governors, senators, congress, and president) have to take continuing education on ethics, financial responsibility, accounting, and finance.  We have more debt than we have currency in circulation.  It is time for another tea party.  Vote out all incumbants and let's get some business people running the country rather than professional politicians.
