Can you lite fireworks in your backyard if you live in canada?

  1. Each cities by laws are different, and it is also depending on the amount of trees in your yard, your proximity to your neighbours homes, and so on. Also a big thing is if you have neighbours who might call the Fire Dept. on you...........my folks recieved a fine of $250 only because the neighbours complained it was a noise violation, even before 11 pm, as it was considered excessive.


  2. yes; but of course common sense needs to be used.

    if your back yard is 6 metres long and borders the backyard of another house, it may be a little unsafe to light fireworks

    just use your better judgement as to whether or not its safe-- but no, there is no law stating you can not

  3. Only during Victoria Day weekend and on Canada Day, I believe.

    Of course, if your backyard is not big enough to do so safely, I'd advise you to not. Many parks have firework chutes to safely light them in and have no buildings around. Contact Toronto Parks Services.
