My roommate found a baby squirrel on the sidewalk and we have been feeding him kitten formula and gatorade. he is doing pretty well. if we would decide to keep him, would we be able to litter train him? if so, how would we do it?

  1. I doubt you would, but I can tell you that maybe water would be better instead of gatorade.

  2. maybe put it in the box every so often but you should let it go when big enough they are wild animals

  3. yes i had a pet squirrel when i was young we used pecans as treats for when he did somthing right

  4. You shouldn't keep the squirrel. Was the squirrel injured or did she stupidly walk up and pick up a squirrel? Squirrels are WILD animals. You may have just destroyed its chances at being released into the wild. You can't just pick up wild animals!

I reccomend taking it to a wildlife center ASAP and have them help you figure out what to do. They are not kittens and they shouldn't be fed kitten formula.

  5. An infant squirrel needs a puppy type formula,...that is closer to what his mother would give it. The gatoraide will help to prevent dehydration, but unflavored pedialyte would be better. Check to see if you have any rehabbers near you, they can help you raise this baby.
