I would love to live in a HouseBoat for a year or two in Maryland. Im single and young and want to experience it while I can. Is it possible? How much does it cost and how do I go about it?

  1. There are live aboards in our marina. Some marinas do not allow them. Our fees are 1300 a year plus electricity. Pumpout is free. Some are more, there are some that are less. We do leave the sailboat in all winter. No ice this year, but we hav been iced in other years. You have to apply at the marina for a slip.

  2. it's much like living in a large RV as was said; but with the increasing regulations it's hard to find a place for one now adays.  Most marinas will not allow "live-aboards" so you will have to start hunting for a dock that will.......

  3. If homeless people can live in boxes and under bridges then I'm sure you can. Actually it shouldn't be much different than living in an RV which I've done for more than a year at a time. You need to find a houseboat that's hooked up to electric, water and sewer and go from there. Check around the docks.
