Can you live in another country and still recieve SSDI benefits?

  1. NO... if you are receiving disability payments and you move to another country, such as Mexico... the payments will STOP after 30 days.  I was talking to a guy and his wife who brought their boat into the marina this past winter and then found out their disability payments were going to be stopped after 30 days.


  2. yes why not expecially if you used to be part of the armed forces.

You need to contact S.S.  and ASK.  S.S. retirement benefits do NOT stop if  a person moves out of the country...so I don't know about the disability benefits.  I would not take anyone's word for it...just call and ask to be sure.  I know they cannot send checks out of the country, so your check must be deposited in a U.S. bank. See site below and click " contact us" to get the number and CALL them.  They are always very nice about answering questions.
