Can you live in halls of residence if not attending the uni they belong to?

i will be at uni, but i want to live in a different uni's halls - they're cheaper and they give you more time to pay

  1. Can't imagine you could, at least it would be very unlikely. Most, if not all, universities guarantee accommodation for all first year students and have limited space for other needs. I don't see them having much room left for any one else, priority will obviously go to people studying at the uni.


  2. Most unlikely - most uni's have an entrance policy for accomodation due to limited spaces for own students eg disabled/1st years/finalists etc etc.

  3. Most, although not all, universities rent out unused accommodation.

    Best thing to do is apply and see if they have any not being used.
