Can you lose weight by just dieting?

If i am dieting extremely but without much exercise.. just your basic brisk walks, house work, etc. Is it possible to lose weight this way?

Can you lose cellulite on your legs from dieting without exercise?

  1. You can lose weight merely by dieting.  The problem is that the way most people diet they end up gaining it back double when they stop.

    You have to eat a healthy, balanced calorie controlled diet and take it on as a lifestyle.

    The problem with losing weight through diet alone is that you end up being a smaller version of what you looked like before.  You need exercise to tone the muscle.


  2. Yes you can lose weight by just dieting. Especially if you are morbidly obese or have a diet low on the nutrients that are necessary for your body to function at optimal levels. The only thing though is that if you only diet and you lose a lot of weight, you might not have a toned body because your muscles are still flabby. Just make sure to drink enough water, eat plenty of protein and fibers. Keep sugar as low as possible (and when you do eat it make sure it comes from fruits with low glycemic index values). Monounsaturated fat for men works wonders with their testosterone levels and should be eaten if eaten in moderation and that helps control your hormones, which then increases your lean body mass.

  3. Absolutely.  In fact, if you were to pick only of of "Diet and Exercise," diet will control your weight much easier then exercise.

    If you eat healthy and stop drinking beer and soda and stop shoving c**p into your mouth, you'll lose weight easily.

    Learn to read cookbooks, cook with healthy foods like fruits and vegetables, and learn to avoid fast food and take out.  YOu'll drop weight like nothing.

  4. It's not just dieting that will help with cellulite - you need to give up all sorts of things - coffee/tea/alcohol/ other things too. It also depends on your age. Younger skin is more elastic and will spring back into shape; older skin can just hang there if there is less fat within it.

    As for not exercising, just dieting - again this depends on your age. I'm sure I can't be the only woman who when young could easily drop half a stone in a week without exercising. As you age it gets that much harder to do it without also including fairly regular and aerobic exercise

  5. Any combination of diet and exercise will work as long as you take in less fuel per day than you need to power daily activities (....or the lack thereof!).

  7. idk about cell. but i knw u CAN lose weight from walking 30 mins a day and doing house work my friend did and lost 80 pounds in 10 months just by walking and eating 1000 calories......good luck im doin it myself now.

  8. Yes, you'll lose weight BUT you may end up with excess skin left over (especially if you were overweight before hand) You need to exercise to help that skin get its elasticity back!

  9. Yes, if you're eating three balanced meals a day. You can put your used coffee grounds to work on your cellulite. Rub the grounds on the area while in the shower. Caffeine is a diuretic, the cellulite will shrink. There are lotions on the market that produce the same result. If you've reached your goal and still need improvement, tighten and tone your legs through jogging or spinning.
