Ok, the title is a little exaggerated... well, I think everybody already slept over a arm and then woke up with it dormant or feeling it strange because of the cut on the circulation, right? Now imagine if someone stays a LOOONG time in this condition, is it possible to become some serious problem?

Probably not, but I'm curious... Thanks for the answers.

  1. UH??

  2. Normally, no. Your system would alert your brain to wake up and take action. If you are unconcious, maybe.

  3. my bro's freind did LSD (acid) once at a party, and he passed out ON his legs, so there was no oxygen or anything getting to the legs, and he passed out for 3 days, when he woke up he couldnt move his legs, so they had to amputate his legs. but he passed out on his legs for 3 days, u dont sleep for 3 days

  4. not only an arm, but a leg as well. People who are in the hospital for long periods of time, who can't move develop all kinds of poor circulation problems, bed sores that can get infected and so forth,

    So YUP.

  5. I remember I slept on my arm and woke up like in the morning and My arm was in massive pain when I tried to turn over argh.. so numb, but awesome.

  6. acctually it can hapen, my friend had a drug overdose, and was left laying on his arm for 12 hours, and he had to get it ambutated

  7. I'm sure after a while, the arm will lose blood supply and just start turning black, like with frostbite.

  8. it can be possible i even think the arm can turn purple.

  9. yea it could if u did for like day cells wouldn't get oxygen and die

  10. well one time i found my mom sleeping next to me on my bed, absolutely no idea why she must have been sleep walking or something, but when i woke up i saw her next to me, and when i stood up my right leg's blood circulation was just completely GONE. and well when i stood up, i just fell LOL!! but it came back in about an hour completely.

  11. I think yes under drugs effect for example, sleeping 24 hours or more in this position we can die too.Not about drugs effect but for heart problems.

  12. Maybe if you went into a coma and no one ever flipped you. On a soap opera, this would be called coming back to life.

  13. Normally one wakes up after the circulation has been cut off for so long, but under the unforseeable circumstance that one might go into a coma for a couple weeks while sleeping on their arm, everything in the arm would stagnate without the blood bringing it oxygen. It would probably have to be amputated in some bizzare circumstance like that.
