Can you mail a bottle of liquor?

My brother wants to send me a bottle of his favorite whiskey. Is it legal for him to just pack and ship a bottle of alcohol and send it to me?

No. It is illegal.

That answer is No! that would be a Intoxicating Liquors. Publication 52  under Hazardous Materials  section 4 sub art 42.

No.  The USPS will not handle it because it is highly flammable, and most private courier services won't handle it because it may run afoul of state laws (e.g., by sending it into an ABC state).

I don't think UPS really x-rays every single thing that ships through them, though, so if someone wanted to break the rules and probably a few laws, whoever that person might be certainly could try...

BTW, what whisky is it?
