Can you make BJDs at home?

Ive seen alot of BJDs (or ball-joint dolls) and im really interested in them. i think it would be pretty cool to make one, but im not sure if its possible or how hard it would be. any info on it would be very helpful.

  1. Yeah, if you're decent at sculpting you could give it a go.  Paperclay seems to be a popular medium among some doll artists, and others use polymer clay like fimo or sculpy.  Most tutorials seem to be in languages other than English, but there are a bunch of artists at denofangels.com/forums , under the artist made dolls subforum (you may have to join to access it) who would be able to help, and you could see some of their methods.


  2. You don't really make them. You buy the pieces and assemble it, then paint the face, put on a wig and dress it.
