  3. No, the basic operating principles are completely different.

    4-stroke:

    1-intake

    2-compression

    3-power

    4-exhaust

    has intake and exhaust valves

    2-stroke:

    1-power/exhaust

    2-intake/compression

    has intake valves and exhaust ports.
