Can you make a healed black tattoo dark like new?

i was just wondering if it would be possible to make a solid black tattoo dark like new by touching it up every month or so. i figured if your getting more ink put in all the time then the color will just get more dense.

To a large degree this is true, but it wont be as dark as the scab was. It'll always lighten up a little. But a lot of folks don't take the time and money for a few relining and reshading/coloring sittings. THAT is what keeps old tattoos looking fresh on folks that have had them for decades. And it looks as good or better than the day it was put on. You can add and improve as time goes on.

There are now intense black inks that you can buy on the internet that will last a long time and they will stop really dark for a good while.
