  1. I don't know of any service offered at a store per say that does this...the simplest thing (if you're willing to spend some cash), there's plenty of computer programs out there that can do this for you...if you have a video in....you would just simply use the program to record it digitally on your computer...then burn it on a dvd...again...assuming you have a DVD-Burner. Otherwise, you can buy standalone DVD-Recorders that you can hook up to your VCR, and it will record the movie as you play it. Both options require spending some money...unfortunately...or the cheaper route....find a buddy that has either or :)

  2. http://www.signvideo.com/conv-v-to-d.htm this link gives you the in's and out's of transferring vhs to dvd.

Here's an actually device that you can buy to do this yourself also. http://www.honestech.com/main/menu1_3a.a... HOWEVER it says "not in stock"

This is Ritz camera. If you are close to one they do it for you also. http://www.ritzdvd.com/vhs_to_dvd.html?g...

http://www.crunchgear.com/2007/07/30/son... another one you can buy and use.

  3. Easiest way is to get a DVD recorder and hook your VCR into the input plugs, then record your VHS to DVD, that's what I do with all of my home movies, you could get a DVD recorder at Best buy walmart etc.  Works like a charm. : )
