  1. 4 shots espresso (about 1 1/2 ounces each)

1/4 cup Cinnamon Simple Syrup, recipe follows

    1 1/3 cups whole milk

    Crushed ice, for serving

Special equipment: 4 small mason jars

Combine the espresso, flavored simple syrup, and milk in a small pitcher. Fill each of the mason jars with crushed ice. Pour the latte mixture over the ice and serve immediately.

    Cinnamon Simple Syrup:

    1 cup sugar

    1/2 cup water

    4 cinnamon sticks

In a saucepan combine water, sugar, and cinnamon sticks over medium heat. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, until the sugar has dissolved. Take the pan off the heat and cool the syrup. Any extra cooled syrup can be saved in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

    Yield: 1 cup

    Prep Time: 5 minutes

    Cook Time: 5 minutes

  2. Yes.  You can even make one with the absence of an espresso machine.

Make a fancy coffee house beverage from your own home. No special equipment required.  You may use a french press (also known as a plunger pot or "Bodum" pot) to brew the coffee. It is the next best brew to Espresso. You can also of course use an espresso machine if you have one, or use strong freshly brewed coffee (preferably double strength at least).

    SERVES 2

    Ingredients

3 ounces freshly brewed espresso (or strong coffee, double strength recommended)

    12 ounces skim milk

    Directions

    1. Pour cold milk into a saucepan and heat on medium heat just until too hot to put your finger into it.

    2. Pour espresso into 2 mugs.

    3. Pour the steamed milk into mugs over the brewed espresso.

    4. Enjoy!

  3. with a cappucino machine:

    steam the milk

add espresso shots (2 is normal, more if you need the caffeine)

    add sugar if you like

that's all there is to it

  4. You need an espresso machine to make really strong coffee, about a shot or two worth.  Then you will need a frothing pitcher to froth the milk, then add it to the espresso and voila!
