im a vegetarian, 100% ready to be a vegan, just need a few more reasons and people to force me into it!

no one in my family is vegetarian, apart from my aunt but she eats fish!!!! a fish was still alive!!!!!!!!

ive been a vege for about 8 years, and im 13. i dont miss anything, vege stuff tastes as good! and its healthier, you live 5-10 years longer than meat eaters!

and can you tell me what to use as substitues, butter, cheese, milk, chocolate, that kind of stuff?

and how easy is it to go from vegetarian eating icecream, chocolate, milk and butter almost every day?! i can give them up, i just need a reason to, like the fact milk has got pus from the cows battered udders in... (poor cows!) ... that put me of milk for a while! which means i shouldnt want to eat icecream... cream... chocolate...

lol thanks!

make me a vegan!

  1. This question is difficult for me to understand.  You might just as well say - make me a meat eater.  What you eat is up to you.  Surely you should have the courage to stand up for what you believe and not allow other people's views to influence you.  The important thing is to eat what you want.  I am a meat eater and I'm happy with that.  I have a vegetarian daughter and she is happy with her choice.  She has twin boys who are not yet one year old and she is going to allow them to make up their own minds and she will not force them to be vegetarian like her.  Her husband is a meat eater.  The decision is for you to make and yours alone.

  2. Be very careful of what you are doing to your body.....it is not advisable not to eat meat if you are of an O blood type. This is because these people have a naturally higher acidic content in their make up.....and if meat is not consumed, the body starts eating its own muscles/meat......hence why i have found many non meat eaters who look pasty and unhealthy.

  3. You can make almost everything you have as a vegetarian vegan, you can make a really nice sauce (white sauce with nutritional yeast added) for pizzas.  There's margarine. Soy milk + lemon helps as egg in baking or theres egg substitute and tofu, theres so much delicious vegan food too, if you want to, go for it.  I have lived with vegans before and had no qualms at all with their food.

  4. I love being a vegan.  I was a vegetarian and I made the switch to veganism after seeing a video on meat.com.  I became a vegan because chickens and dairy cows are the worst treated of all the animals.  I don't need to eat dairy and eggs.  As a vegan there is plenty to eat.  I never heard the vegans/vegetarians live 5-10 years longer.  I am a vegan because I am against animal cruelty but I am also a lot healthier.  I would never go back to eating animal products.  I would starve first.  I use a butter substitute called Smart Balance that comes in a tub.  It is totally vegan and tastes great.  You wouldn't know the difference.  For milk you can drink soy or rice milk.  I am allergic to soy so I drink rice milk.  It is delicious.  I know there are some cheeses for vegans but I don't think they taste great.  I am not a fan of chocolate so I don't eat it.  You would have to look into alternatives.  There is an alternative brand of icecream called Rice Dream.  I get it at my health food store and I love it.  It is delicious.  You can also have Sorbet.  Also, I'm not a huge fan of icecream so I don't feel deprived.  You can also have things like Italian Ice and Popsicles.  Your aunt isn't a vegetarian if she eats fish.  She is a pescetarian.  It isn't hard to be a vegan.  I don't miss the foods that I use to eat.  I am not picky so being a vegan is easier for me.  I eat a lot healthier so food tastes a lot better to me.

  5. I can't make you vegan, I can give you facts and such to help convince or motivate you. So here you go...

    #1:http://youtube.com/watch?v=VIjanhKqVC4

If your not affected somethings wrong haha.

#2:Heart disease is THE NUMBER 1 killer in the western world. Things such as chicken, fish, eggs, milk and other dairy products are generally high in cholesterol and saturated fats, Vegetarians are 50% less likely to suffer, vegans are even less likely.

#3:The average vegan has 10-30% less body fat than the average meat eater and vegetarians are generally 3-20% lighter.

#4:To feed 100 (just a random number of people, doesn't make a difference how many) vegan people it takes 20 times less land as it takes to feed 100 non-vegans

#5:Animal proteins significantly contribute to cancers, Dairy contributes to breast and prostate cancer.

#6:Vegans are also less likely to become diabetic and suffer strokes and other unwanted things (Google it for more health related facts there is tons!)

#7:Switching to a plant based diet is the single most effective thing a person can do to help climate change. (70% of forest destruction to the once large amazon is because of land needed for life stock, 64% of all acid rain is because of life stock)

#8:"Globaly life stock is reponsible for more greenhouse gas emissions than all the planes, train, cars and buses put together. Most of the gas is methane which is 21 times more harmful than Co2.

#9:A meat eater needs 10 times more water than someone on a plant based diet, It saves 5 million leters a year which would be double the water you use in a life time for showering.

$10:It's just wrong, what companies do is disgusting and people still support and fun torture and murder. Look at what is done on meet you meat, its not just animal that are made to die for meat but nearly all animals for any purpose. Fur, beef, eggs, lamb, pork, turkey, leather, milk etc.. Even cats and dogs are killed for fur clothing. So you should just stop supporting such money hungry disgusting people. What they do is unnecessary and obviously wrong.

There is billions of reason why it's good to make the change. You will benefit from it, animals benefit, the enviroment benefits, everyone wins except people doing the wrong thing so there isnt much of a reason not to make the change.

I hope some of that might have made you more motivated or helped you in some way. Good luck.

  6. Substitutes: SmartChoice flax oil spread for butter (do not switch to anything with hydrogenated vegetable oils as your body can't break them down); coconut  or palm kernel oil for shortening in baking; soy or rice milk for regular milk; soy "cheese" for sliced and shredded cheeses; nutritional yeast for Parmesan cheese; cocoa powder mixed with vanilla for chocolate flavoring; hand-crank shaved ice machines work great for subbing out ice cream...I like to shave frozen juice, frozen soy milk (especially the chocolate Silk); pouring soy/rice milk over frozen fruit causes the milk to freeze...I like this with frozen blueberries drizzled in honey (try with juice over fruit, like OJ over blueberries, for variety).  Most everything has an adequate substitute.  If they don't appeal to you, ask to check out the local Farmers Market or Health food store--they usually have organic and animal friendly products.
