Can you make meatballs with frozen ground beef?

I wanted to make spaghetti and meatballs, but my brother thinks that you can't make meatballs with frozen beef? Is this true? I don't want them to come out bad, and was wondering who was right!

Are you talking about ground beef? of course you can make meatballs with frozen meat, after you defrost it of course. When I go shopping I freeze all my meat and when I want to make meatballs or meatloaf or whatever I take it out, defrost it and prepare it.. bon appetit

Tell your brother it's possible if you thaw the meat first.

With 1 lb of meat, mix 1 cup of bread-crumbs, & 1 raw egg.

Some people like to add a second meat, such as pork sausage.

Brown 1" balls in hot oil, then bake on cooking sheet in oven.

Yeah you can, just don't re-freeze the meat.

Here's the recipe I use

½ cup unseasoned bread crumbs

½ cup Romano or Parmesan cheese, finely grated

¼ cup whole milk

¼ cup low-sodium beef broth

¼ cup chopped fresh parsley

2 eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon dried oregano

2 teaspoons garlic, minced

2 teaspoons kosher salt

2 teaspoons ground black pepper

1 teaspoon dried basil

½ teaspoon dried pepper flakes

Pinch nutmeg

1 LB ground turkey or ground meat of your choice

Combine all ingredients and stir thoroughly with a fork.

Bake at 450F for 25 minutes or fry as desired.

If the meat is frozen, I don't know how you can add other ingredients to it, the meat needs to be soft to mix and form meat balls. But you can still make spaghetti without meat balls Enjoy!

Of course you can make meatballs with frozen ground beef. Just un-freeze the beef, ad some nice spices, and either cook them in a pan or in the oven. Good luck.

Sure, you can!  :D  It goes without saying of course, but you have to thaw the meat first.

Sure you can. Just thaw it out first. Try using the microwave defrosting setting to get it unfrozen.

If the groundbeef is thawn you can make meatballs. They don't come out bad as long as the groundbeef was frozen very fresh.
