I've heard that you can go to safeway, or albertsons, and you can recycle your cans and stuff, but you get a certain amount of money for each item you recycle.I was just wondering if anyone had done that before, and knows how much money you can recieve. Thanks!

  1. well there is a store i used to work at and i know they recycle the cardboard i dont really care if there is a big incentive for me to bring in my cardboard there but i just do it when i recycle the bottles and cans you try to figure out how much value there is in picking up more than a semi full of trash from the earth and were i vacation part out everything and recycle it i leave the scrap metal out for the scavengers at the curb side i mound my recyclebins at times and what is supposed to be a vacation spot im not impressed if they limit what they recycle cause in my  area there is lots of landfills and there close to our water source and if you dont like to recycle and your my girlfriend it might be soon you find yourself single if you dont want to care thats all i got

  2. On the side of a recycleable bottles and cans there is an are which has the abbrevation of states and the amount of money someone paid when they bought it.

The state you live in determines how much you get back.  Usually 5c-10c.

In California if you turn in less then 50 items they count them and give you 5 cents back for each.  If it is more than 50 items they weigh them.  You usually get more money if they count them.

When you recycle, unless you are getting cans and bottles from other people, you are simply getting the your money back.
