  1. This is just a suggestion, I'm not an expert on the models but I don't believe the cr250 was intended to be used as an enduro in that year up until recently actually.  It is definately

not worth converting a bike over that was not intened to be

used on the road. I don't even think motor vechicles or the insurance company would let you register or insure it..

There are plenty of dual-purpose bikes out there for every year for the past " let's say forty years"

So to answer you here. I don't think it's gonna be the right choice for you if you intend to ride on the road..

Check out some pics of the cr250  below ...also try ebay , which is a great place to view bikes according to the category of Dual Purpose.

Start with ebay motors,  then motorcycles, then search by type, year etc...

Hope this helps a bit....  ( good luck when you are ready, and don't forget to start with a motorcycle license.....

  2. most xr250 were road registerd, but in time some are lost...quite easy to find out the reg number with a good hpi check...if not just re-register it..u DONT need lights etc ,you can get a daylight mot...sorted

  3. You need the following:

    headlight

    taillight

    blinkers - front and rear

    licence plate bracket

    horn

Here is a pic of your bike:
