  1. Yes, at many places.  There are different types and it may work differently in different countries.  Assuming that you are in the USA, you need to look for places that accept "debit cards".  You can spot them because they have a "PIN pad" by the register.  Many debit cards also carry a Visa or Master Card logo.  If your card has this logo, you can use it as above or you can use it as a credit card almost anywhere.  The only place I have found that will NOT take a debit card (with Visa or MC loge) is for rental cars.  They require a credit card or a large deposit.

  2. Yes, I do it all the time, same as a credit card.

  3. it depends on the type of card and plan that you have, because i now with my chase checking card i am able to

  4. If it has a Visa or Mastercard logo on it it is a debit card and you can make purchases.  If it doesn't have either of those logos it mostly likely can only be used in ATM transactions - check with your bank to see what you can do.

  5. but of course u can do it!

but unlike credit card u wont get any credit for purchase. u can spend only upto ur bank balance

  6. Most ATM cards these days are in the form of a credit card. They say if you choose debit at the register then it comes out automatically and that if you choose credit then it comes out in 3 days. WIth one of those cards it is actually always automatically.

If you have one of the old fashioned cards that is strictly ATM, then it is automatically it will come out of your account. You cannot use the old ATM cards online for purchases, but you can use them in stores, and at the ATM withdrawal.
