  1. Definitely. Vintage shops and thrift shops contain lots of clothes you can dress up or add to an ensemble.

    Check out the ensembles at www.chictopia.com. While some people use designer stuff, a majority of people thrift a lot of the pieces of their outfits. That's real fashion. I have an account, but I haven't uploaded anything. It's really fun to go through the lookbook and see the outfits ordinary people put together on a budget.


  2. Anything that you're going to wear reguarly and for a long time, go slightly more expensive, but there's no need to break the bank. Look at catwalks for the current season, particuarly ones that someone like Elle or Vogue recommends. Oh, yeah, that's something I do. Always read fashion magazines, because they pick up on all the trends and will usually show a way of doing it for less. Particuarly keep an eye on things like jackets, bags and shoes, because they can really pull together a look constructed of clothes from last season and bring them bang up to date.

    you can get things that look brand new at goodwill and nobody would know you only paid $3 for them.
