  1. Yes....most of the chain restaurants now make it manditory...I worked at Red Lobster and Road House Grill and Ruby Tuesdays and all of them took 1 % out for hostess and 5 % for busser and *8% for Bartenders....You don't get paid more then minimum wage but hey times that by 10 or 15 wait staff and you got it goin on!! Good Luck

  2. sure.

i know bussers get tips, not sure about hostesses..unless your bussing as well

  3. at the restaurant that i worked at during the lunch shifts there were no bussers so it was my job to clear and set the tables for the servers.. only when they were super busy.. one of the girls that i helped out always gave me a couple bucks the others were not so generous.. so i didnt keep up as much on their tables as i did the other girl!

  4. most bussers share a percent of server sales, and some hosts do as well.....in higher end restaurants you have a position called server assistant who does many of the same things bussers do......

  5. It depends on how the restaurant has it set up for the servers.  Some servers 'tip out' to the bussers, host, and greeters.  Other servers keep 100% of their tips.  You would need to check with the restaurant to see what their rules are.
