Can you mate two kinds of birds?

i would like to see if a male quacker and a female cockati can mate.

No a quaker and a cockatiel will not mate.. Their mating dances and rituals are different.  It would be like trying to get a gorella and a chimp to mate.. They just aren't compatable.  

You can mate two different types of quakers,  or cockatiels, much like you can breed two different types of dogs (a lab and a pit for example).  But not two birds of different species.

As long as they are of the same species. Doves will mate, whitewing/ ringneck. Different breeds of pidgeons and so on. Different species will not breed.
