Let others lead small lives but not you. Let others argue small things but not you.Let others cry over small hurts but not you. Let others leave their future in someone else's hands but not you

Jim's philosophy was to demand more of yourself in order to live a full life.  He advocated goal setting and discipline to achieve those goals.  For example, he would say that it was easy just to complain about a less-than-fulfilling life and come home and watch t.v.; in other words, do nothing to change one's present circumstance.  However, by implementing a few disciplines in your life (i.e. reading books that would enrich one's mind, etc.), one can rise above the mediocrity that may be surrounding you at the time. Thus, he would say, "let others live small lives, but not you".
