Can you mend a ripped rubber exhaust hose on a jetski?

  1. No, you'll have to buy a replacement hose, especially if you have a wet exhaust system.


  2. If the rip is small & on the end of the hose, you may be able to trim it a bit as long as it still slides on the fittings enough to clamp it securely.

    Another fix would be to cut the split part out of the hose & insert a length of aluminum or stainless tubing which is the correct diameter and fits snugly into the hose using clamps on both sides of the repair. This is best suited as a temporary fix & will get you going until a replacement is available.

    You should replace the hose asap in any case, also look for any blockage around the cooling system intake or any kinked or damaged cooling hoses which may have starved the cooling system for water & caused excess exhaust heat which burned the hose causing the split.
