Can you mix in LYSOL and WATER in a steam mop?

i bouyght a steam mop and i wanted to find out if i can mix water and soap in it because i want to kill all germs in my floor

  1. Check the box or manual before doing it.  If it says not to then I would not risk it, plus chances are it will void the warranty.

    what would it hurt?

    lysol makes a steam mop and they say to put lysol in their steam mops. so why couldn't you put it in any other steam mop.

  3. the water in the steam mop has to reach 100 degrees to produce steam...is that not hot enough to kill germs and bacteria?

  4. Better it would be washing the floors with chlorine and then go spraying the floors.

    I think a gallon of water can have bacteria that could ressist better lysol. Everywhere there's water there's bacteria.

    So you'd had to spry a fifth of the  can to disinfect a gallon of water at least.
