So I'm flying in a few days, and I have SEVERE flight anxiety. I've taken klonopin for it once before but for some reason my mom refuses to get it again (I'm 17).

Anyway, I can still use herbal remedies. I want to make sure I do everything I can, so is it safe to take Bach Rescue Remedy and Kava Kava root together? What if I add benadryl to the mix?

Thanks.

  1. i love what your talkin bout

  2. its very good that your getting prepared for such things as I have general anxiety and always carry a few things just in case. You can take rescue remedy and kava together because rescue remedy does not interfere with anything its just a flower essence. Rescue remedy is very effective. Kava is safe to use but I wouldnt suggest long term because of its liver side effects. I would suggest a product called stress-j by natures sunshine ...it has a number of calming herbs such as chamomile, passion flower, and hops. You mix this liquid with water and drink it. It works within a matter of a few minutes. You could take this in addition to rescue remedy. If all else fails lavender essential oil works the fastest and will calm you down very quickly. Good luck and have a safe trip.

  3. First off Klonopin is a serious drug that shouldn't be used haphazardly.  It is a highly addictive substance.

Kava is an excellent herb but has cause liver impairment in some people taking it.  Do NOT mix Kava with other drugs as it can impair liver function.  Kava is best made from the roots in a blender and not from pills.  Pills can be adulterated and the affect isn't nearly as authentic.

Benadryl isn't safe by itself, why mix it with other things.

Bach seems fine but I wonder if it works.

I'm no doctor I'm just speaking from my personal beliefs on the subject.

By the way anxiety may go down the more you fly.  A psychiatrist can help you through sessions and NOT medicine to overcome your anxiety from flying.
