Can you mix matt emulsion with silk

i have half a can of matt emulsion and half a can of silk emulsion can i mix it together.

  3. I have done before now, and it turned out o.k.  The difference between matt and silk is the finish, so if you mix them half and half you get something in between.

  6. I agree with Taf and Col...I too am a decorator of many years and we are all correct.

  7. as long as both are compatable..meaning if both cans or latex based yes..and if both cans or oil based yes you can..You cannot mix a can of oil base and a can of latex though..this will change the sheen on the paint slightly though
