Can you mix teeth whitening gel?

I got my teeth professionally whitened at my dentist with Colgate, and I just ran out of the gel... since it is so expensive to buy more, and I have a friends who works in a dentists office, I am going to buy them from her at a cheaper price... if they use a different brand gel, can I use it even though I have been using Colgate since May?

  1. No you cannot

  2. I don't see why not.  BUt I wouldn't mix it with an old brand.

By the way, look at the one in May.  It may have expired already.

peroxide has a short life span.

also be aware that different brands means that it may be a different % of peroxide.  Look at the percent of peroxide on your old whitener and on the new one.  If the new one is a higher percentage or peroxide,  you may have more sensitivity.
