  1. ... and when it's lost or stolen your entire financial worth goes down the pan ..

    Yep, VERY CLEVER ...

  2. Yes - and your word selection, "monitor", is the right choice. I'm in the market and find if I just want to "stay in touch" my beloved blackberry is great.  However, if you do frequent transactions, you'll find yourself better off having a mini-PC handy, with max gigs, and you can now run it through your Blackberry (when needed) anywhere there's wireless coverage, or buy a sim card and do the same.  The sim card is 60 a month with Verizon, but your phone is always free.  The enabling of your Blackberry for PC transmission wireless is only 15 per month, but your phone can interrupt your signal if you don't block incoming calls.  I use my blackberry, and have a minimal use cell back-up that is 100 per year (8.33 per month). Saves me 37 a month, and provides a ready cell phone if needed.  Hope this helps you.

One other note.  I have contacts who eliminated their home PC cable and use the simcard, so they are pretty even on the cost after that.  It's also more reliable than most cable companies.  I've used my phone a lot as back-up because Comcast is forever s******g up the lines in the area and dropping my signal.

  3. I think you can do that at Think or swim. They provide a program to be run at certain phones.
