Can you move a router?

i was wondering if it was posibly to move a comcast modem and router to a diffrent part of the hous if so how

  1. Comcast is cable isn't it?

    You can definitely move them, however you may have degradation of signal.

    What you'll first want to do is make sure that the cable line coming into the house is split to your modem, then to the remainder. You'll want to move the modem to the new location and ensure that it is still in that sort of same configuration.

    You want your modem to be on the first splitter. The remainder can be whatever, the length of where the new location isn't so bad and you shouldn't loose any signal from the cable, just want to make sure its setup that way.


  2. No can't do it.........it is way to technical.......it would be like moving a tv....or a vcr.....Joke. Yeah pick it up and take it to the next room......plug it back in.
