Can you move out of your parents house at 16 in New Zealand?

If you are living in New Zealand can you move out at 16 and rent? Or is it legal to get a mortgage?

  1. You sure can but you have to have someone 18 years or older to co-sign your lease or mortgage. And it will be really hard to get a loan so young.


  2. possibly, but can you afford to look after your self ? that is the big question, have you got a steady job ? with money coming in, have you some where to live  ? i cannot see any one letting a home to a 16 year old. you will have to do your own washing ,cooking, cleaning

    think hard before you leave home and upset your family it is a big step

    you will need to consider how much your rent is going to be weekly and food you will need at least $300 roughly a week coming in for all that its not easy being on your own

  3. you don't want to do that,why ? the BEST place is with your FAMILY.
