- no matter where you live (country, state, whatever). Even if you live in a big city there are still indigenous species in the general area.

They can't all be trees! and be specific - not just "pine tree" for instance: you must specify a species. (Say that six times after a few drinks!!)

  1. In my immediate area I can name about 50, but

    1. Yucca

    2. Buffalo grass

    3. Cottonwood trees.

  2. Lemna minor (duckweed), Lilium superbum (lily), & Ranunculus abortivus (buttercup)

  3. I'm Irish and I'm pretty good when it comes to native trees. (birch, elm, oak, beach, chestnut, hawtorn, willow, elder ect) but when it comes to plants I'm a little iffy... I'll give it a try for the fun of it... lets see... wild rose... blue bell... foxglove... primerose... dogwart... There's some ^_^ foxglove and primerose you'd see around march, bluebells around april/may and wildroses about may/june all native plants here!

  4. Leather fern,  Polypodium  scouleri

    Coast live oak, Quercus agrifolia

    Seaside arrowgrass, Triglochin maritima

    Douglas bluegrass, Poa douglassi

    Coast nettle, Urtica californica

    Soaproot, Chenopodium californicum

    Coast larkspur, Delphinium californicum

    Pacific stonecrop, Sedum spatbulifolium

  5. I wish I could.  I've been trying to learn all the names of the flowers I see around town and in the nurseries.  I'm very interested in gardening, but unfortunately I don't know anything in that much detail.  Is there a website you can recommend that gives information about indigenous species by area?
