  1. I'll ask me dad. He's 83 and used to drive trucks along the docks. He now lives in australia so i'll give him a call. You're asking about a terminus not a station ?

  2. I think either Dingle at one end  and Seaforth Sands at the other.   I remember travelling on this overhead railway when i was about 12 yrs old  It was lovely to see all the ships. Sadly the line closed at the end od december 1956.

  3. Its a small world Wirralman. I sometimes sell off one or two railway tickets on ebay and have some for the destination of Liverpool Landing stage, which I list for 99p -the very same one you refer to! From this I assume the station must have been Riverside as it was only across the road from the Landing Stage by all accounts. It would be interesting to know where people would have gone from there....

  5. Mersey docks & harbour board? or overhead railway?

Without resorting to looking it up on the internet...

Dingle on the overhead railway was one.

    Riverside on the docks railway.

  6. If you mean the former station adjacent to the Princes Landing Stage, this was Liverpool Riverside.

This station was the end of a branch which left the mainline at Edge Hill and burrowed under the city coming out somewhere near the Tatel& Lyle sugar refinery, and then crossing the docks, Princes Dock, I think.

It was used by trains for the transatlantic ships; there was one for the Cunard boats, and another for the Canadian Pacific ships, the latter was titled the Empress Voyager.

I am unsure about trains for ships to Africa and S America..
