  1. Actually there are some variations of hemoglobins in lower animals. Primitive species such as fungi, algae, bacteria, plants and protozoans has single-globin hemoglobins.

    Many nematode worms, molluscs and crustaceans contain very large multisubunit molecules, much larger than those in vertebrates.

    Giant Tube worms also has complex hemoglobin that can carry oxygen with sulfides in it.
