Can you name about this kind of developed / developing Country?

Generally what I found till today is every country permit you 3 months visitor visa. Apart from this Can you suggest / inform me regarding a country which gives you a Residency permit for more than 3 months? My purpose it to stay and explore that country.

The United Kingdom (England) issues a visitor's visa that is valid for 6 months or more if stamped(granted).
