puerto rico shield: has a sheep laying down on top of a big red book. the sheep holds a white flag with a red cross. and its a latin message in the bottom which i dont know how translate. the big gold letters on top of the sheep F & I

means F: for king Fernando and I: for the queen Isabel originally legacy from Spain. Sheep means peace and sacrifies, and the book means knowledge.

The  flag every one knows is not the PR flag, that is the ELA flag, the PR flag has a light blue triangle.

In music it is almost forgotten La Danza, El Seis chorreao(old dance from the country), El cuatro(musical instrument,like a guitar), El guiro(musical instrument). La Plena(dance with African influence). Las Parrandas(very traditional surprise visits done during Christmas season with music to friends and family)

National Tree: Flamboyan. It grows tall with wide spreading branches and has mostly red flowers. Now, some Flamboyan flowers are pink, yellow and the rarest one is the peach.

National Flower:  The Amapola:  It is a big flower consisting of 5-7 petals with long stems and medium to large leaves. Also it comes in other colors other than red.
