Millions upon millions are being poured into funds to fight g*y marriage. What kind of difference do you think would have been made if all those millions and all of this passion were channelled into ending world hunger or bringing about world peace?

To give you a yardstick, this is how far just $150,000 goes...

I'm NOT generalizing and saying that ALL Christians don't fight for peace and other causes, but I've never seen prominent Christian action groups throw as much of a fit over worldwide crises as they have thrown fits over g*y marriage.

  8. I know, it's ridiculous.  This is one of the main reasons many people are not Christan today. How many good, caring people would want to be part of a group filled with prejudice?  Discrimination against g**s is just as much of a breach in civil rights than any other prejudice. It's amazing that with all we know today, people still believe that it is wrong to be g*y.  Also, since the real Jesus Christ was a liberal who was nonjudgmental and loved everyone within the human race, he never would have treated non-heterosexuals the way today's "Christians" do.

  9. Many Christians gave their lives to transport Jews out of occupied Europe.  They gave their lives in protest against the Catholic church's control of faith in Europe.  Some also were imprisoned for transporting slaves out of the American southeast.  So, What is your point?

As far as the money, your view shows diddly.  I have participated in aid programs in Africa, South America and Asia.  "World Hunger"  will not end as long as there are natural and man made catastrophes.

World peace will never happen.  Man is too base of a creature.  Tribalism will cause conflict even when all needs have been satisfied.  Greed and hunger for power would have to be ended before that, too.

In reference to g*y behavior, that is an issue of the text in the Bible.  These people are trying to practice what they feel they are directed to do by their faith.  Many feel that state sanctioning of what they believe as immoral behavior causes questioning and further increase of other immoral behaviors that are only illegal by the wavering laws of man.

Every faith system defines relationships between man and his creator or gods, between family relations, and between man and society.  Stated rules of behavior bring order and allows us to function at each level for the benefit of the group.  Acceptance of the faith system and its rules of behavior by the society maintain that society.  If the rules are violated without recourse or privileges reduced in status for adherence, the society will fail and more and more rules and relations are altered.  The proverbial hole in the d**e event could occur.  Though g*y marriage is not prohibited in the 10 commandments, it is just as condemned as theft, adultery, and murder.

For an outsider to this system of faith you may have a relative value system of perceived cost or damage to society.  With that mindset, g*y marriage is way down the list of bad behavior.  Well, what about theft?  Is it better for the family to have their home broken into and their belongings stolen or someone performs identity theft and strips out their finances for the same value?  In fact the latter is prosecuted with far less vigor than the former, though the loss may be the same or greater.  The family loses and may never recover from either situation.  The family followed the rules, but get victimized.  Society has lessened the punishment, because no physical damage or loss occurred even though the cost to the victim was the same.

  10. Marriage is the very bedrock of our society.  Christians take it very seriously, because we believe the US has enjoyed many blessings from God as a nation which has tried to honor God.

I know you don't get what I'm saying, but money talks, so maybe we're just putting it where our mouths are.

  11. g*y divorce?

  12. I say these Christians are wasting their money. g**s will get together whether they have a marriage certificate or not. And I agree that the funds would be more beneficial if directed elsewhere. Like getting evolution out of our schools.

  13. Abortion, the worst human rights issue...ever.

  14. Being g*y is unnatural. Christians simply don't cotton to attempts to legitimize a breed of perverted deviants. I hope this doesn't offend any of the q****s out there.

  15. Ok firstly, WOW Slightly Offkilter could you get any more offensive in your response?

Secondly, Christians feel strongly about many causes and we give to the causes we believe in.  Including feeding the hungry around the world, giving to disaster relief, giving to missionaries and many other worthwhile causes.  Where we choose to channel our money, is our business as a group.  We don't wait around for the government to take it from our paychecks in extra taxes to try to help people around the world, and support the causes that we believe in.

  16. I had to read this several times to make sure I was understanding you correctly, because I live in California, and have never seen any ads or such promoting the banning of same s*x marriage. I HAVE, however, seen THIS video dozens of times:

What kind of difference do you think would have been made if all THOSE millions and all of this passion were channeled into ending world hunger or bringing about world peace?

  17. I would call those people "Unaccepting of Reality."  Homosexuals are here and they're here to stay.

As to these other answers about Christian funds to help other countries...would these people be helping them if it was not a religious organization?

Also, Ruth, the United States is supposed to be a secular nation, not a Christian nation, God has nothing to do with what the nation does.
