Seriously, what have they done. I've heard what they say they will do, but talk is cheap. Joe Biden has been in the US Senate for 29 years, surely he's accomplished something. Barak Obama has run the Woods Foundation, was this successful and how do you know?

  1. The best thing ; to be nomines

  2. Tickled Blue if FOS! He never authored ONE bill let alone 820!

  3. They have conned and cheated their way to the dem nomination.

  4. Every politican says what they will do, but do they really do it? Only time tells. Bush said all the things he would do back in 2000 and again in 2004, but did he really help this country? You be the judge. I just feel that this country needs new leadership under a new regime and if McCain wins, Lord help us.

  5. Biden wrote the 94 "assault" weapons ban, which was an epic fail.

  6. They share one "accomplishment":

Ran on a combined ticket in the 2008 US Presidential race.

  7. Obama: (some, not all)

    Senate Accomplishments:

Since entering the U.S. Senate in January 2005, Senator Obama has written approximately 890 bills and co-sponsored an additional 1096.

Senators Obama and McCain have been running to be the nominee for President for their parties since January 2007. Therefore the 890 bills written by Senator Obama and the 1096 he co-sponsored all occurred in a 2-year span. That shows that he is a prolific and tireless Senator.

Because of the long-drawn-out nature of passing laws in the Senate many of his bills are still in committee and some were vetoed by republicans. Senator Obama has an impressive record by anyone’s standard.

For someone who supposedly has no record (according to his competitors) his record of accomplishments are extraordinarily impressive and inspiring.

    · Democratic Republic of the Congo Relief, Security, and Democracy Promotion Act.(This is the first federal legislation to be enacted with Obama as its primary sponsor) Became law

    · Secure Fence Act. Authorized construction of fencing and other security improvements along the United States–Mexico border

    Became law

    · The Lugar–Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act. The Bill expanded the Nunn–Lugar cooperative threat reduction concept to conventional weapons, including shoulder-fired missiles and anti-personnel mines Became Law

    · The “Coburn–Obama Transparency Act” eliminated gifts of travel on corporate jets by lobbyists to members of Congress and the establishment of USAspending.gov , a web search engine launched in December 2007 and run by the Office of Management and Budget to require lobbyists to disclose the candidates, leadership PACS or political parties for whom they collect or arrange contribution and the combined amount of the contributions Became law

    · Amendment to the State Children’s Health Insurance Program providing one year of job protection for family members caring for soldiers with combat-related injuries Passed in Senate

    · Energy Policy Act of 2005 to add $200 million for Function 270 (Energy) for the demonstration and monitoring of carbon capture and sequestration technology by the Department of Energy Passed in Senate

    · The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act (after amendments became the Secure Fence Act which became law) Passed in Senate

    · Education Bill. Require that the Director of Mathematics, Science, and Engineering Education to establish a program to recruit and provide mentors for women and underrepresented minorities who are interested in careers in mathematics, science and engineering. Passed in Senate

    · Summer Term Education Program. Supports summer learning opportunities for low-income students in the early grades to lessen summer learning losses that contribute to the achievement gaps separating low-income students from their middle-class peers Passed in Senate

    · Iraq War De-Escalation Act of 2007 a bill to cap troop levels in Iraq, begin phased redeployment, and remove all combat brigades from Iraq before April 2008. Republicans voted against

    · Iran Sanctions Enabling Act supporting divestment of state pension funds from Iran’s oil and gas industry Republicans voted against

    · Sponsored an amendment to the Defense Authorization Act adding safeguards for personality disorder military discharges, and calling for an official review following reports that the procedure had been used inappropriately to reduce government costs Republicans voted against

Senator Obama sponsored approximately 820 bills in the Senate, since they are too numerous to list.

    Biden

Biden is unbelievably strong on foreign policy. Where Richardson had good experience, Biden has that and more. He has even managed to get a bi-partisan non-binding agreement for a plan on how to succeed in Iraq passed in the Senate. This is a huge accomplishment, but better yet, he explained why a non-binding agreement was useful politically. Taking a complicated political maneuver like that and putting into useful understandable terms was great.

His plans for health care seemed reasonable and incremental. Rather than attack an overwhelmingly huge “universal health care” plan, he instead has broken it down into goals that can more easily and independently be accomplished. He also explains where he’ll find the funding for this initiative. Biden became ranking Democrat on the Foreign Relations Committee in 1997 and served as chairman of the committee from 2001 to 2003 and from January 2007 to the present. He has served as chairman or ranking member of the Judiciary Committee for sixteen years. He is recognized as one of the nation's leading authorities on foreign policy, as well as one of its most influential voices on terrorism, drug policy, crime, and issues important to women. He has been a tireless advocate for working families and has reached across the aisle to work with Republicans on tackling some of the greatest challenges facing Americans.

  8. No.  Obama has zero to his credit.  I don't know about Joe Biden.

Tickledblue - Is the list you posted a satire?  Obama never wrote one bill...and never showed up for any of the meetings on the bills he sponsored.  Just added his name to make it look good.  And that's a fact.  Not sure where you came up with 820, but I assume you simply posted that to sway the uneducated.

  9. During his last two years, Democrats controlled the chamber and he was the go-to guy on a variety of issues. He helped pass legislation overhauling Illinois' troubled capital punishment system and was a key figure in requiring a massive statewide study of traffic stops to look for signs of racial profiling. Although police groups opposed the legislation, they say Obama listened to their concerns and accepted some of their suggestions to improve the bill.

Even when he was in the political minority, Obama sometimes played a critical role. He helped write one of the rare ethics laws in a state known for government corruption and worked on welfare reform with Republicans.

He sponsored legislation to bar job and housing discrimination against g**s, and he helped create a state version of the earned income tax credit for the poor. Obama also led efforts to reject federal rules that would have put workers' overtime checks in jeopardy.

he also got children in chicago healthcare, when no one else could.

john mcsame has been in the senate for 26 years, passed one law that he subsequently broke. he has no more political accomplishments than obama but has been there for 20+ more years. i don't want to hear mcsame is against earmarks and has never received one. in 1992 he has an earmark for roughly 10 million for a water project in phoenix. look it up, and look up his one bill he co authored regarding campaign finance reform. do your own homework and educate yourself. quit relying on hearsay. maybe he can't remember this stuff because alzheimer's set in.

  10. Having grown up in Chicago during "the messiah's" rise to fame you may want to check into how he won his first election. His "minion's" along with the Daley machine's help systematically force all five of his opponents to be taken off the ballot including the incumbent by going to court and "showing" that names were falsified in order to be on ballot. He ran against no one!!

You might also want to check the Chicago Tribune, notoriously liberal by the way, for the facts and while you are there check the very interesting facts on a guy the tribune has nicknamed "Obama's pool boy".

In my business we refer to people like this as a silver tongued sleuth" or "big hat no cattle".

How about Biden being "one of us" by riding the Amtrak. Wake up folks....He rides in the first class train which "we" don't and as taxpayers we pay approximately $180 per day so he can be "one of us"

  11. so he likes to write a lot.

  12. You will get the answer in my press conference. My staff are still installing my teleprompter.
