I'm trying to get the name of this tree:

It looses its leaves in the fall. Very clean tree and nice to the touch. Leaves are not waxy or shiny.

Any guesses? Any answers are appreciated!

  1. It looks like a mimosa. If so, it is a trash tree and will spread throughout your property and neighborhood coming up every where. To be sure take a branch to a garden shop, or better yet, to your state extension service for an ID.

  2. Take a set of leaves to your extension service (every county usually has one because it's sponsored by the USDA) and somebody there should be able to help you. The Master Gardener program at the extension offices have some very knowledgeable people. Be sure to tell them if it flowers, when, what kind of fruit it has (nuts, berries, etc.)

  3. looks like a tree of heaven or an ash perhaps...try this website....you can do it for the eastern us and the western..and it shows drawn pictures of the leaves..which is where i got my guesses..good luck...you could also take a set of the leaves to a local nursery they may be able to tell you what it is....
