Can you notice a big difference in a quad core processor and a duo core?

im going to use my computer for video editing , gaming, music, and watching videos

  1. It depends. For video editing, or designing stuff, you will notice a difference.But, for word, or email, you won't notice it. It depends if the program you're using can use all four cores. If it can't, then it will only use 2 cores, which means you'll get the exact same performance as you would a dual core. If it can support 4 cores, then you will notice it.  


  2. It depends which programs(games) your using.It is not notable yet because most programs don't support 4 cores, but in near future it will be big difference.  

  3. It depends on what you're doing. If you're gaming, a good dual core will be better than a quad because games don't take advantage of four cores. But in normal multitasking a quad will be faster. As for a noticeable difference in speed, it really depends on what processors you are comparing in particular. Either way, I recommend you go quad because it's a bit more future proof as more and more applications will be able to take advantage of four cores. And for now it will be plenty fast enough too.
