I'm wondering if you can drop out anytime you want or if you have to serve X amount of years before dropping out.

  1. I think in most states you have to stay in school till your 16. unless you can prove hardship to get a job to support your family

  2. I'm pretty sure its 16 too and did you know the GED test is 10 times harder to pass than just finishing high school because you have to know the equivalent of all four years of high school in one test. To graduate high school all you really have to do is show up and turn in work to pass the classes plus you get the social scene, but i dropped out in10th and got honors on my GED with out studying, its not that bad, oh yea i was 16 when i dropped out and had to wait til i was 17 to take the ged test too

  3. you can drop out anytime

and the GED is equivalent to a high school diploma, but doesn't look as good.

  4. i'm pretty sure you can't legally drop out until you 16. If you do before hand you need permission or something from a parent. i think they have to sign some papers. but that's just technical stuff, if you just stop going you might get in trouble for truancy

  5. In Wisconsin, the law says that you must attend school until you are eighteen and one-half, or your class graduates. Though kids stop attending, you're not supposed to be able to quit here.

  6. drop out any time. but even though its suppose to be the same, high school diploma looks better. it says that you're willing to put in the time.

  7. yep just be sure you be 16 years old

  8. It depends on state law where you live.  Where I live, the law says 17 to drop out with parental consent, 18 to take the GED.

  9. you can get it anytime as far as i know. I have aged and i left in the 11th grade. Doesn't make me any less smart.
