only if you are a legal citizen or if your parents are Guatemalan citizen, you can have one at the Municipalidades where people is born.

I don't believe the other anserers realize how difficult it can be to obtain a birth certificate in a Central American country!  If you have family there, and they are abel to go to the palacio municipal n the town where you were born , they could ask if the records are actually there.  Then you would probably personnally have to call them or write a letter to request a copy.  If you have no family there, you wll need to try to call the palacio municipal yourself.  If you were born in a large city, they may even have a municipal website, so check on that.   you could also try contacting the Guatemalan Embassy here in the U.S. to see if they can help you.  See 2nd website. There are websites that you can use also, but they can cost over $100.00.  Good luck in your research.

Yep just tell your parents or if your old enough go to the guatemalan consulado and they will get you one!
