I got aid from FASFA for my first semester of college, which was in the Spring of this year. I didn't attend Summer classes, but I'm about to start Fall classes now. Is there a certain amount of time that has to go by before you can reapply for the FASFA?

  1. You can apply once every school year; However, you can update the information on the FAFSA right before the school year if you have already submitted the application. Usually there is a priority deadline so you definitely need to call your school's financial aid office for information!

  2. Dude, if you are about to start classes in the fall, you should have applied back in Feb/March.  All the state aid deadlines have passed and most of the school deadlines as well.  You will still get federal aid if you qualify (Pell grants, Stafford Loans) but don't expect it to be processed before school starts.

Applying for financial aid is a PROCESS that takes up to 8 weeks to complete... some schools are faster than others, but many still want payment before school starts despite you applying for financial aid.

You do one fafsa a year.  But always remember, every year when you do your taxes in Feb/March, do a new FAFSA.  This way to meet all the state deadlines. It will increase the likelyhood of getting more money.

EDIT: Yes, you only apply once a year.  You will get the aid given to you once a semester (twice a year) fall and spring.  When you applied last time, it was for you attending the SPRING semester.  You need to apply again. (As i stated) Because the state deadlines and schools priority deadlines to apply for fall 08 and spring 09 was back in Feb/March.  5 months ago.
