Can you only connect surround sound speakers to a DVD or can you connect to a TV?

  1. If the speakers are connected to a receiver you can connect the speakers to your TV if your TV has audio outputs, such as regular RCA jacks or an optical audio output. The output of your TV you hook up into one of the inputs on your receiver. However, if you use the RCA jacks to hook up your speakers it will not broadcast audio in surround sound since this connection is analog not digital. Nonetheless, if your TV has an optical or coaxial audio output then you will hear the sounds from the TV in digital surround sound.


  2. well if your tv sucks then yeah its worthit to add surround sound,

    and you should connect ur surround sound to your tv and your dvd to your tv..thats the only way i know of
