  1. Yes, I use eggshell.


  2. You can paint your radiators with normal oil-based paint that you use for wood.  It is common practise amongst trained decorators and completely normal.  

    There is specialist radiator paint, but it is unnecessary though not harmful.

  3. Yes you can but it yellows (or discolours) quickly. They do special heat resistent paint for radiators which has the added advantage of being a pretty tough coating shrugging off knocks and bangs.

  5. No, not really.   You must check the instructions on the tin and it will say whether the paint is suitable for radiators.   Certainly, emulsion paint should not be used.

    Have a browse around the DIY stores and read as much info as you can.   Paint is expensive and it would be a shame to waste money on the wrong product.

  6. hi g, sand the radiator, give it 2 coats of primer , then 2coats of undercoat,then 2 coats of gloss always use a good brush. all the best.

  8. yes you can if it is a coloured paint but white goes yellow after a while and when you turn them on they will give of aromas for a while but it can be done .proper radiator paint though is the best

  10. No you need special paint as the normal paint with start to peel off immediately the radiator gets hot. They sell radiator paint in lots of colours nowadays.
