Question:

Can you paint interlocking stone?

Our driveway is a red interlocking stone. It doesn't match the colour of our house (blue) and we were wondering if we could paint/stain it as the stone itself is in perfectly good condition. Any ideas/advice is appreciated.

  1. Yes but the end project will not look like a painted wall.  I would recommend it only if you understand that the end project will look like a Mosaic painting with shadings of color (any color you use) where the paint has seeped into the cement.  The paint will wear off and will make it a yearly project ~ as you car tires will wear on it.

I would recommend a color tinted stone/cement sealant.  Red is really hard to change the color to a lighter color but you can change it to add a blue hue to it.

    Good luck

  2. I say if it isn't moving you can paint it!  lol  My husband told our dog not too long ago, "keep moving, Andy or she'll paint you!"

Obviously, I haven't had any disasters (yet).
