I have laminate flooring in my bedroom and I want a white floor, can you paint over laminate flooring?

  1. No I think it would just flake off and look all scabby.


  2. You can actually get laminate paint from B&Q.  The stuff I seen doesn't even need an undercoat which is good.

    I haven't used it myslef so i don't know how good it looks.  I think it's more for kitchen cupboards and that kind of thing.

    I used sticky stuff on a roll to change the colour of my daughters wardrobe door (to add colour).

  3. there is a special bonding epoxy paint that makes it easier to paint laminate although I don't think it would be durable enough for a floor

  4. It is unlikely to last.  You would have to rub the laminate to a matt finish, but really you're on a loser.

  5. You Could, but i dont think it would wear well.

  6. You can get stuff to paint over the laminate to put on before you paint it to help it to bind onto the surface better. I have used this on kitchen cabinate laminates and it works well. However, since you will be walking all over the painted laminate I'm not sure it would stand up to heavy wear and tear.
