so my friend and I wrote on my white window sill and the edges of my window in sharpie, but now we're moving so I'm wondering if we paint over the sharpie with white primer will it cover it up completely or will the sharpie bleed through?

  1. yeah because sharpie isn't a layered type of utensil

  2. Mr clean erasers  about 3.00 $ a box

wet it  little elbow grease its out .... army wife here cleared 3 base housing  units  my oldest sharpie queen  everywhere mr clean comes off wall  window seal even plasma tv  .the paint might but might be $$$$

  3. It never hurts to try but that SHARPIE is truly a MUTHASUCKER!!!  But it is not impossible!!

Good Luck and hopefully Hello Deposit refund!!

  4. it will probably cover it up. get a small amount of paint and try it out. good luck.

  5. I'm pretty sure you can paint over it. Try painting a few layers if the first one doesn't cover it completely (:

  6. You need to paint it with a primer first (Kilz) then paint it over with regular interior paint.  Might need 2 or three coats of Kilz with the sharpie.

  7. only with white-out

  8. it should work especialy if u put a few coats on

  9. yup but sharpy cant come out of your shurt

  10. no - paint is used to hide things.

however, you are correct - you must use a good quality white primer and white coat over that. one coat of each should be fine.

  11. I know Sharpie is "Permanent", but try scrubbing the area where you wrote / drew to at least wear it down. That may make it easier to paint over. It is pretty likely that it will bleed through though.

  12. depends on the color of the sharpie, if it's it black, definatly not.

but if it's some lighter color like yellow, then maybe

  13. painting it would work. but you should do more than one coat

  14. use Kilz

  15. Sharpie ink will bleed through normal paints.  I recommend that you use a good primer first.  Maybe even apply two coats of primer before painting. After that, paint to your hearts content.

The toughest, most effective primer is KILZ oil based.

  16. ****

  17. Sharpie, I believe is petroleum based meaning be careful what you cover it up with. Latex might not work.

  18. buy new windows

  19. Glidden has a great primer called "Gripper". It will cover anything.

Two coats and you've got it made.
