Can you pass a vehicle inspection with the SES light on?

Depending on what you drive it is possible to pass the inspection test.  Most cars today have an SES light that serves as a service interval reminder, such as an oil change.  The Check Engine light will notify you if there is a problem with your vehicles emissions system in which case you would most likely not pass inspection.
